On Thursday of last week I walked for 30 minutes with robotic assistance. My sister and I also went to a Braves game on a Shepherd field trip. I met a guy named Darren last Thursday. He is currently battling the process of breathing with out the assistance of a ventilator. After talking for only 15 minutes, he asked me if I knew Christ. Here is young guy battling the process of breathing along with a spinal cord injury and here he is, worried about my salvation. If we could only all be as strong as him.
On Friday I learned “new rolling in bed techniques”. I made my very first PB & J post injury. It was off brand peanut butter, so I declined on the sandwich plus I wasn’t feeling it. I ended my Friday with a 42 minute lokomat session. I walked the fastest the machine would allow and with full weight bearing (supported 95% of my own weight). I have been scheduled to walk everyday for the remainder of the week. I leave Friday. Please pray for Jake (a wounded warrior) and Darren for his breathing and his recovery during this hard process. There is a possibility I could get a six month scholarship, but there a limited spaces. I will submit my application in the morning. Peace, love and goodwill. Goodnight. Thank you all for your words and support.
